Astrology divides time into units called ages which correspond to the signs of the zodiac. Each age lasts from 2000 to 2400 years. This progression outlines the evolution of the universe and mankind. According to this tenant we are now moving from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius. The New Age teaches that as we pass from the church age (the Piscean Age) in the Age of Aquarius (Age of Enlightenment) we will evolve and become God.
The New Age religions, as well as Mystics, Gnostics, and Occultists believe that the Age of Pisces (which symbolized the age of our Lord Jesus Christ) will come to an end. With the arrival of the Aquarian Age, humanity will begin its ascent into the Spiritual Kingdom. It is believed that during the Piscean Age our essential duality was revealed (body and soul). The sign of Pisces is the linking of two fish which they believe symbolizes the linking of our body and soul. Jesus they believed was just a “pattern son” who showed us the way to fuse our lower nature with our soul to produce the Incarnate Christ-in-all.
This evolution towards the incarnate Christ is called the Age of Aquarius. The goal of the New Age Movement along with the Mystics, Gnostics,and Occultists, has consistently been to usher in the Age of Aquarius when all will recognize ‘the God within”. Surely any true blood-bought Christian would see the error in these teachings. Not so. These occultic New Age teachings have leached into the soil of the modern church, taken root and multiplied choking everything in their path. I liken it to Kudzu. Plant a small root of Kudzu on your land and watch it for a few years. It will astound you in its ability to overtake everything in its path. These teachings, as I am about to show you, are identical to what is being taught and propagated by the Latter Rain Movement, New Order of Latter Rain, Man-child Company, Apostolic and Prophetic Movement, Manifest Sons of God, New Breed, Joel’s Army, and an astounding host of churches and worldwide ministries which act as a seed bed for these false teachings.
Like the New Agers and Occultists, these Latter Rain teachings propagate that Christians are being trained in readiness for a New Order when they will be united as one in the Army of God and shall overtake governments putting their enemies under their feet. They are no longer looking for the return of Christ, nor are they praying for the coming of Christ’s Kingdom. They don’t need to -they ARE the Kingdom. Heaven has come to earth. They ARE the Christ. They are manifesting themselves to the world as God Himself. This will occur during a period they refer to as ‘the Latter Rain”. In my humble opinion, when church teachings start lining up with New Age and Occultic doctrines, we have a serious problem. The symbol of Aquarius is water. The association in Aquarius is that of the servant of humanity pouring out the water of knowledge to quench the thirst of the world. Aquarius has great mythological significance. Water was life sustaining to the ancient civilizations. The rainy season occurred during the month of Aquarius, in many parts of the ancient world. This was seen by many ancient societies as the beginning of a New Year or new life cycle. Aquarius is often depicted as an angel bearing a vessel of water which he is pouring forth onto the earth.
“The goal of the New Age Movement has consistently been to bring in the Age of Aquarius when all will recognize ‘the God within themselves.’ A major step towards this in the words of the New Age prophetess Alice Bailey is ‘the regeneration of the churches.’ Her vision was that… ‘The Christian church in its many branches can serve as a St. John the Baptist, as a voice crying in the wilderness, and as a nucleus through which world illumination may be accomplished.‘ In a word, she desired the time when the ‘Christian churches’ would embrace the New Age concepts of illumination and self-realization.
The New Age plan to bring in world peace cannot fully establish the Golden Age of Aquarius until Biblical Christianity is outlawed or destroyed.”— Richard Bennett, Can Mysticism Lead to God So we see from the quote above that the New Age Movement has a plan to use the church as a womb so to speak to birth world illumination. This will be a mass realization of humanity becoming “little gods” aware of their “Christ Consciousness” within. We see also see that the New Order can not fully come to pass until the Old Order is done away with. Who is of the old order? It is the Christian who holds tight to Biblical Christianity of course. The main tenant of New Age teaching is that every living thing is a deity, and each of us is on a journey from unawareness of our own divinity, to full Christ Consciousness.
So once these “Enlightened Ones” have evolved to “Christ Consciousness” how do they plan to get rid of those of us who refuse to accept their one world religion? New Age prophetess Alice Bailey explains that the destructive “Shamballa force” will eject unbelievers from the earth. “The decision to release the Shamballa force during this century into direct contact with the human kingdom is one of the final and most compelling acts of preparation for the New Age.
The Shamballa force is destructive and ejective … inspiring new understanding of The Plan….It is this force … which will bring about that tremendous crisis, the initiation of the race into the mysteries of the ages. (Alice Bailey, The Externalizing the Mysteries, pt.1 p.171) This is essentially no different than the Joel’s Army teaching, a teaching by the way which also believes that those who do not submit to their governance must die. “Jesus will come back to earth and be given the Kingdom that has been won for Him by this “man-child company. (Joel’s army) “The Manifested Sons of God doctrine teaches that these sons will be equal to Jesus Christ: immortal, sinless, perfected sons who have partaken of the divine nature. They will have every right to be called gods and will be called gods.” (Prophets and the Prophetic Movement Bill Hamon). Now listen to Bob Jones (of the Kansas City Prophets) speak about what the Apostolic and Prophetic Movement refers to as the coming of Joel’s Army, the latter Rain or the Manifest Sons of God.
The teaching is identical to that which the New Age and occultists teach. Bob Jones has received special revelation about this new hope: “I have called the best of every blood line in earth unto this generation…I have elected to bring them forth in this generation…THE ELECT GENERATION…even the bloodline of Paul…of David…of Peter, James and John…They will even be superior to them in heart, stature and love for me’…Your children will possess the spirit without measure…They will move into things of the supernatural that no one has ever moved in before…coming into the DIVINE NATURE of Jesus Christ…a Church that has reached the full maturity of the GODMAN! This generation…is going to see the beginning of this WORLD WIDE NEW ORDER.”(3)
According to Paul Cain, “God’s raising up a new standard, a new banner, if you will, that’s going to radically change the expression, the understanding of Christianity in our generation…God hasinvited us to have a role in establishing a new order of Christianity…God is offering to this generation something He has never offered to any other generation…beware lest old order brethren rob you and steal this hope from you.” (Paul Cain, “You Can Become the Word!” 1989, Vineyard Prophetic Conference) (Discernment Newsletter)
Paul Cain makes it very clear that he believes we will become Christ. “The Lord has well planted this seed and the New Bride and the New Breed…He’s about to open the womb and He’s about to give birth to this New Thing…When the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us we beheld the glories of the only begotten of the Father and when you begin to become that Word I want you to know. The world will behold the glory of the Father and that’s what we’re waiting to see…I want you to know that we’re going to have some channeling one of these days, but it’s going to be channeled right out of the throne room of Heaven.” (Paul Cain, “You Can Become the Word!”, 1989, Vineyard Prophetic Conference) I hate to be the one to inform Cain but the Word became Flesh and dwelt among us.
The Word was and is Jesus and thus it is impossible for us to become “The Word”. Also please tell me when in scripture you find a precedent for spiritual things being channeled from the throne room. Channeling belongs to the New Agers, Gnostics, Mystics and Occultists and is strictly forbidden by God as an abomination! In case we had any doubts about who is doing the work in the church to get it ready for its evolution into Christ Consciousness, David Spangler one of the founding figures of the New Age movement puts in all into perspective for us. “Christ is the same force as Lucifer… Lucifer prepares man for the experience of Christhood. (He is) the great initiator…. Lucifer works within each of us to bring us to wholeness, and as we move into a New Age … each of us in some way is brought to that point which I term the Luciferic Initiation … for it is an invitation into the New Age. (David Spangler Reflections on the Christ p.44-45)
Let’s look at what New Age prophetess Alice Bailey has to say about the role of the church in this. “…The church movement, like all else, is but a temporary expedient and serves but a transient resting place for the evolving life. Eventually, there will appear the Church Universal, and its definite outlines will appear towards the close ofthis century… This Church will be nurtured into activity by the Christ and His disciples when the outpouring of the Christ principle, the TRUE second Coming has been accomplished…the Christian church in its many branches can serve as a nucleus through which world illumination may be accomplished… the church as a teaching factor should take the great basic doctrines and (shattering the old forms in which they are expressed and held) show their true and inner spiritual significance.
The prime work of the church is to teach, and teach ceaselessly, preserving the outer appearance in order to reach the many who are accustomed to church usages. Teachers must be trained; Bible knowledge must be spread; the sacraments must be mystically interpreted, and the power of the church to heal must be demonstrated.” Alice Bailey, The Externalization of the Hierarchy, 1957. Did you catch that? The New Agers plan to use THE CHURCH to bring about their New Order. World illumination will be accomplished THROUGH THE CHURCH. What kind of illumination are they talking about? Do they mean acceptance of the Biblical Christ? Do they mean repentance and acceptance of His shed blood as the sacrifice for our sins and the ONLY way to eternal life? No, certainly not, it is Lucifer preparing man for the experience of Christhood. And just in case we are really dense she goes on to tell us that they NEED the church to preserve its outer appearance to reach those who are accustomed to its usages.
To see how prominent this is even in mainstream Christendom consider the following. Alice Bailey clearly states that outlines of this super-church would appear towards the close of this century. I am sure it must just be a coincident that in 1995, Pat Robertson had predicted that hundreds of millions of converts to Christ would form an army of God to bring judgment on the ungodly in the year 2000. “In my thinking, the ministry of CBN was an end-times ministry,” he wrote. “Like John the Baptist, we had been called to proclaim the end of the old ageand to prepare the people for the coming of Jesus Christ and the new age
In order to prepare for the imminent Second Coming—which Robertson believes will occur on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem according to biblical prophecy—he acquired METV (Middle East Television), a station then based in southern Lebanon that could broadcast into Israel. Straub (the then producer of the 700 Club) was given marching orders to be ready to televise Christ’s return. CBN executives drew up a detailed plan to broadcast the event to every nation and in all languages. Straub wrote: “We even discussed how Jesus’ radiance might be too bright for the cameras and how we would have to make adjustments for that problem. Can you imagine telling Jesus, ‘Hey, Lord, please tone down your luminosity; we’re having a problem with contrast. You’re causing the picture to flare.’” Does this sound much different than the Planetary Pentecost preached by Barbara Marx Hubbard.
At this time, a “quantum leap” in the evolution of mankind will occur as revealed to her by “the Christ”: “At the moment of cosmic contact, I will appear to you both through inner experience and through external communication on your mass media.” Says Ms. Hubbard, it will be a time when “the divisions of the religions would be over…We would each know that God is within I ask that you prayerfully consider these things in the light of scripture. Ask the one true God to reveal any areas in your life that you have been deceived by these (or any other) teachings and to lead you into His Truth. I was heavily involved in the prophetic movement and had my eyes opened only to re-involve myself with a church teaching a much more (seemingly) benign form of the same aberrant doctrine. It was only after praying a simple prayer asking God to reveal any areas of deception in my life that my eyes truly began to be opened to the openly occultic nature of the teachings being propagated by large portions of the Christian Church. The vast majority of those trapped in this deception love God and want to do His will. Deceived people never know they are deceived other wise it would not truly be deception. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! (Gal 1:8)
